This year has been an exploration of the topic of fear. Fear is spread through our society without anybody realising it. It affects our brains over time and changes the way we behave as well as our perceptions on society issues. With the rise in right wing groups and hate crime, I always wondered how people arrive to this point. Is fear the catalyst for this behaviour? Over a long period of time, does fear put us on constant edge ready to react to people we fear and do not understand? Why don't we talk about this issue?
Zaid, a refugee from Iraq who we met in Brussels in 2015 shares his personal opinion about this topic and how it relates to the barriers society has towards refugees.
